Hi Everyone,

I'm currently working to create an EL10 branch of Ghettoforge and I have
a choice to make, so I'm asking for input here.

RHEL10 (and most derivatives) do not support x86_64-v2 anymore but
require at least x86_64-v3. Currently the lone exception is that Alma
Linux has a v2 release of EL10 and has built EPEL for v2 as well. So
this leaves me with one of three options:

1. Just build GF10 against Rocky Linux as I have since EL8 and not have
support for x86_64-v2. This should be fine for the vast majority of users.

2. Build GF10 against Alma Linux 10 x86_64-v2. Since
backward-compatibility is a thing with x86_64 it will work fine for v3
distros as well but it means that Ghettoforge packages will not benefit
from the additional performance-enhancing features of x86_64-v3.

3. Build GF10 against both with separate v2 and v3 repositories. This
will require a lot more work and is something that I would rather avoid
unless there is a lot of demand for it.

So ... At this stage I am leaning towards options1 unless I get
significant feedback from people wanting v2 support then it will be
either option 2 or 3 above depending on the exact feedback I get.

Please respond here and let me know,

Thanks,

Peter Ajamian
